About the Club
Very little has been documented about the history of Streat and Westmeston Cricket Club but we have traced our roots back as far as 1926, where there are records of a team representing the two parishes playing in the grounds of Middleton Manor. After that there is little record of the club until the 1950's when it is recorded as playing on Hayleigh Farm in Streat. The old tea hut was allegedly then carried across the fields to Middleton Manor in the early 60's.
Streat and Westmeston were founder members of the Stoner Mid Sussex League in 1988 and remain the only team to have played in the 1st Division for the 20 years since, despite some very close shaves in recent times.
We were winners of the 40 over Knockout Cup competition in 1993 and Runners-Up in 1990 and 1991.
In July 2002 we entertained the Old England X1 to celebrate the opening of our new pavilion. Visiting players included Derek Underwood, John Snow, John Lever, Clive Radley, David Capel & Neil Foster.
The ground has also hosted an international fixture - England Ladies Under 19's v Holland Ladies Under 19.
In 2008 our 1st X1 finished Runners-Up in the 1st Division representing the best league performance in the clubs history.
In 2009 our 2nd X1 were Runners-Up in the cup competition and narrowly missed out on promotion.
